A completely off-the-grid lifestyle

The Hidden Valley Eco Estate was founded on the three objectives of self-sufficiency, environmental sustainability and minimal environmental footprint. The vision is to have just 12 residential units with a minimal environmental footprint, thereby keeping the vast majority of the property as a pristine, indigenous wildlife habitat. Our vision is premised by the understanding that people need to live in respectful and interdependent relationships both with each other and with nature. Our vision is to nurture harmony between ourselves, the natural environment, and the community around us. Our belief comes out of the realisation that while nature can live without people, people cannot live without nature.

We offer an oasis for residents to live a complete off-the-grid lifestyle with options for solar installations as well as water harvesting and storage systems, thereby truly living in harmony with the environment.

The 120-hectare estate has 12 exclusive use areas, with the remainder of the property set aside as communal conservation land. The communal area has an array of scenic trails for walking, birding, mountain biking or trail running. The trails take in riverine forest, grasslands, acacia woodland, rocky cliff faces with jaw-dropping views and the cascading Lenjane waterfalls. The estate also has 12 kilometers of  river frontage, allowing residents to swim, fish, canoe or tube down the might Mooi River or on the smaller (but no less majestic) Lenjane River.
